CARE FOR YOUR MODERN CLASSIC

Care for Your Modern ClassicClassic models with a four speed gearbox are essentially a 1955 motorcycle that requires a greater level of care and attention than any modern motorcycle. Bullet Classics need running in and get noticeably better with time; the gear-change gets smoother, the engine frees off and overall performance improves.

Essential care for your motorcycle includes keeping a check on electrical connections as well as various nuts and bolts for tightness. Valve clearances, drive chain tension, brake and clutch controls all require regular adjustment. To keep the appearance in peak condition the chrome needs to be protected against bad weather. This is a classic bike and cannot be ridden between scheduled services with no extra attention.

None of the above is very complicated or difficult, and your dealer will be able to assist you further. Royal Enfield Motorcycle owners are enthusiastic about their machines, and from what they tell us, they are pleased to have the chance to get more involved with their motorcycles.

Electra models are developments of the original machines, but with the new engine and gearbox and other features which provide real improvements in usability and inherent reliability.
